Vampire Weekend are getting ready to release their new album Modern Vampires of the City next week. As what has been happening recently with new releases lately, the and have made the album available to stream early now on iTunes. She and Him have released the first single for their new album Volume 3 and the song is called “Never wanted Your Love”. Don’t let the title fool you, the song is no somber piece. It is full of just as much sun and pep as you would expect form the duo. Check the song out below and see what you think.

So She and Him, The Strokes, and Vampire Weekend all have new albums coming out in the next few months. Rejoice! She and Him’s new album is called Volume 3 which is in keeping with their past volume themed albums. The Strokes come back with Comedown Machine and we’ll see if it results in as much debate as their last album did. Finally, Vampire Weekend is back with their third album called Modern Vampires of the City.¬†If their last two albums are any indication the only way this would not be good is if they decided to go the heavy metal route.

The Strokes are apparently getting ready to release a new album and to show it they have put out a new single called “One Way Trigger”. the song sounds more like Julian Casablanca’s solo album stuff than it does like some of the older Strokes material. It will be interesting to see if this will be the whole style of the entire new album or not. Check out the song below and see what you think.

Local Natives new album Hummingbird is currently available to stream now on itunes. After checking it out I cannot wait to get my hands on this thing when it comes out next week. It’s been a while since the release of The National’s last album High Violet but recently they’ve decided to surprise us by playing 5 new songs and possibly hinting at the release of a new album some time soon. On the Toronto show Q live the band performed the songs “Rylan” and “i need my girl”. You can listen to them here. In England the band performed 3 new songs including “Lola”, “Sullivan”, and “Prime” you can watch the footage below.

So the band Bad Books, a collaboration between Manchester Orchestra and Kevin Devine have released their second album simply titled II. The band released the album back in October and if you haven’t had a chance to check it out you definitely should. Most collaborations tend to fall flat but these guys are able to come together almost like a sense of brotherhood in order to put the album together. Check it out here.

 

 

Band of Horses have decided to release another single from their album Mirage Rock out September 18th. The song is called “Sloe Cruel Hands of Time” and differs very much from the first single “Knock Knock”. This second single displays the band more subtle side and offers another glimpse into what we can expect in a couple of weeks. Check it out and see what you think.

The Vaccines new album Come Of Age is available to be streamed in its entirety before its release date on September 3rd.The album has a louder sound than their first effort did but with the same sort of attitude-infused hooks that have attracted many people to the band. The Avett Brothers have a new album coming out on September 11th called The Carpenter. The folk/bluegrass group continues their knack for creating songs with meaningful themes and yet catchy hooks at the same time. The album continues their journey from the band’s last effort with songs that catchy hooks mixed in with more introspective fare. You can stream the entire album on NPR before its release here at this link. i think the band has another winner on their hands, let me know what you think.
